About the Committee
The committee is a collaboration of several state and other non-profit
organizations that are interested in providing training to the parents and

workgroup also supports the goals of Georgia’s Nutrition and Physical Activity
Plan and the Live Healthy Georgia Campaign whose aims are to prevent and
control obesity and chronic diseases.
Committee Objectives

Increase the number of early childcare centers, group day care homes and family
day care homes that implement healthy eating and physical activity programs
-
Increase the number of early child care centers, group day care homes, family
day care homes and families that create an environment to promote healthy
eating, physical activity and support breastfeeding mothers.
Resources identified by the committee will be maintained on the Healthy Eating
for Life website, providing access to a comprehensive collection of nutrition
and physical activity training resources that specifically address the needs of
children ages birth to five. Public service announcements to promote healthy
